This colourful, bright, abstract, acrylic painting with its ‘extended’ analogous (colours side by side on the colour wheel) explosion of six colours can be found in nature. Could this be a dahlia or underwater coral?
Swift, repeated, rotating brushstrokes give a sense of a spiralling, dancing movement that adds to the colour message and musical harmony.
The circular composition possibly symbolises life. It allows the eye to travel round and round the canvas to its central destiny, orange-gold. The artist was free to enjoy himself whilst creating this piece.
Acrylic on Masonite, date unknown, probably mid-career. (Cleaned and framed.)
What a great painting
