Indigenous Tribute (60.5 x 46 cm)

The artist has given this light and colour-related, semi-abstract painting a very interesting background.

The painting is textured and different coloured paints have been layered over each other. The canvas has a scrubbed, rough appearance so the artist may have used a palette knife to give this effect. Colour is quite intense on the left hand side of the painting and graduates across the canvas to softer colours on the right.

In the foreground dark, dramatic, stick figure dancers are silhouetted by campfire light, as they join in celebrating something special.

Soft tints of yellow, pink and green bring a life-like feel to the painting and it tells a story. It has aesthetic appeal.

Acrylic on Masonite, date unknown. (Cleaned and framed.)
